Lebanese Documentary Nominated for Brazil International Monthly Film Festival

Director Anthony Merchak’s autobiographical documentary “Beirut After 40” examines his own experience with the August 4 blast, an explosion that almost cost him his life. The documentary features real footage from the blast site and surrounding destruction.


The documentary has been internationally acclaimed, most recently being nominated for the 2021’s Brazil International Monthly Film Festival and for the South America Awards. London Documentary Film Festival has also chosen his film as the best autobiographical documentary.

Beirut After 40 aims to strengthen our collective memory, with the sense of community acting as a cathartic tool to process this tragedy.
