Assi Hellani Goes On A Blocking Spree After NYE Party

These past couple of days, Twitter has been flooded with screenshots of people being blocked by Lebanese singer Assi El-Hellani.

This comes after his performance on New Year’s Eve, a party that was deemed extremely unsafe during COVID-19 times. Twitter users did not shy away from giving Hellani a piece of their mind, and rumors have been circulating that he was even fined 300 million Lebanese Lira for violating safety measures set by the Ministry of Health during his performance at the Habtoor Grand Hotel. This rumor has yet to be confirmed.

Hallani took to Twitter in an attempt to soften the blow of his misstep but needless to say, that majorly backfired:

Armed with his trusted block button, Hellani was quick to shut out anyone who critiqued him.

Twitter users also gave his fellow performer Melhem Zein a piece of their mind.

It appears as though Lebanese pop stars should have realized that some things are better left unsaid (or better yet, untweeted).
