Meteorite In Akkar Turned Out To Be A Party Lantern
While most of us were bracing ourselves for Chapter 11 of 2020 last night which apparently involved meteorites, it turned out to be a false alarm.
A video of a flaring object crashing into a field in Akkar, North Lebanon last night was circulating on social media, with many speculating that it was a meteorite, or a fragment of rock or iron from outer space that survives passage through the atmosphere to impact the surface of the Earth.
Definitely sounds like a 2020 thing.
But it was later revealed that the flashing object was actually a party lantern… because this is a year well worth celebrating.
Of course this prompted hilarious reactions and jokes about the mind-boggling things we’ve come across this year.
Here are a few of them:
