Lance Armstrong Led A Bike Tour To Help Beirut Blast Victims
In an effort to raise funds for organizations helping the victims of Beirut’s August 4th explosion, American professional cyclist Lance Armstrong led a bike tour around Beirut yesterday, Sunday October 4th.
Many cyclists took part in the “Bike for Beirut” tour which fell on the two month anniversary of the blast.
Participants cycled through the port and passed by the area where the ammonium nitrates were previously stored, and then continued their tour around Beirut.
Among the organizations that the tour is collecting money for are the Lebanese Red Cross and the charity group Offrjoie, both of which have been actively helping victims and those affected.
In the two months since the explosion, we have yet to learn anything substantial about the blast. May all those who were lost rest in peace.
