Minister Of Education: “Official Exams To Be Postponed In Lebanon”
In a televised interview with “Sar El Waet”, Minister of Education Tarek Majzoub announced that all official exams in Lebanon will be postponed.
This comes after schools and universities closed down amid the coronavirus outbreak to ensure the health of students and faculty, and resorted to “online learning” to keep up with their curricula.
Despite insisting that the official exams will not be cancelled, Majzoub explained that the ministry will take appropriate decisions as they assess the situation moving forward. This could include reducing the required material on the curriculum.
He also highlighted that the Lebanese law does not allow for official exams to be conducted remotely, which calls for creating mechanisms that legally recognize online learning.
