How much money do you need to get through the day? Will $4 be enough?
A new awareness campaign was released by the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon (UNSCOL) to shed light on poverty and poor living conditions.
In the video, individuals attempting to withdraw money from the ATM become agitated and panicked when they realize their accounts are showing only $4 or 6,000 LL.
According to UNSCOL, many individuals in Lebanon live on
less than $4/day. So if it’s difficult for you to get by with that amount of money, it’s most certainly difficult for them too.
The video, which was posted only a few hours ago, is already rapidly circulating on social media.
This initiative is part of a larger UN campaign titled
Take a Step, which aims to bring about change in peoples’ everyday lives with simple small acts of kindness. Besides eradicating poverty, Take a Step also works towards quality education, gender equality, affordable and clean energy, life below water, and peace and justice.
