Uruguay Street Is Back And Beirut’s Nightlife Is Whole Again

Remember Checkpoint Charlie, Xiao Ciao, Gatsby, Concrete and Joker Bar? I don’t know about you guys, but I spent all my university years and made the best memories on Uruguay street, before it died down. And now, they’re back so we can all revive our favorite years!

Uruguay District launched on June 16, and is promising big things; fine food, rare spirits, live entertainment, and impeccable service all on the charming streets of Downtown Beirut.

For those of you who are too young to know what Uruguay Street is, it’s the same as Mar Mikhael – more upscale though – and nestled between the gorgeous buildings on the cobbled streets of Centre Ville.

They’ve already hosted a couple of bands, such as the likes of Peter Chouchani, during the past three days in celebration of the reopening, and they’re promising that certain pubs are set to make a comeback and reopen.

In midst of the World Cup 2018 fever, you can head down there and watch your favorite teams play along with chilled beers and delicious popcorn.
