November 2nd marks #WorldMankoushehDay thanks to the team behind Zaatar w Zeit who created the holiday to celebrate and honor our traditional Lebanese breakfast pie!

We were surprised with tasty Manakeesh for breakfast from Zaatar w Zeit to join their celebration!

Zaatar w Zeit plans to make this holiday an annual celebration putting the traditional Lebanese breakfast favorite on a pedestal. It’s been 20 years since the first Zaatar w Zeit branch opened and started making those delicious wraps we all know and love from the basic Thyme and oil (hence zaatar w zeit). So today we’re going back to basics and celebrating how it all started: Zaatar, Zeit, and fluffy warm dough!

It’s an important day for all food lovers – go celebrate with a warm mankoushe today!

Here are 4 of our favorites:

1. Zaatar w Zeit – All branches (24 hours a day, 7 days a week!)

2. Snack Faysal – Hamra (before heading to university)

3. Afran Abou Fadel – Beit Meri (the Sunday usual)

4. The Beazbee – Hamra (the non-conventional fluffy zaatar “feluche”)

And of course, any local bakery in the neighbourhood with a queue makes a tasty mankoushe!
