The New Pancake Stand At Souk el Akel Has Us Drooling

Stacks is all the rage at Souk el Akel these days. What started as a pancake delivery hobby quickly flourished to the next best kiosk at Beirut’s popular street food festival.

Meet Sara Jabri, the pancake therapist and the woman behind Stacks. Ask her how she got started with Stacks and she’ll tell you, “unemployment and a passion for pancakes”. This great idea was almost a cereal cafe, but aside from rolling out with new quirky flavors, her goal is to become Beirut’s pancake therapist. And trust me, these stacks are therapeutic wonders.

Imagine a triple stack of pancakes drowned in your favorite flavors from salted caramel and white chocolate, to a mix of Lotus spread and Nutella.

Satisfying all taste buds, Stacks has about 90 different recipes in the pipeline. Other sweet stacks included Canelle’s Apple Pie, Limone Redberry, and Banofee Pillowy Pie.

The savory options are just as exciting if you’re not in the mood for something sweet, with stacks like pesto mozzarella with sundried tomatoes, spicy mango ginger breaded chicken, peanut butter and chicken, and goat cheese with raspberry, to name a few.

Both sweet and savory flavors are available for delivery, and you can check out Stacks at Souk el Akel (happening every Thursday in Downtown Beirut or select locations) for a stack of fresh pancakes.
