Seven Photos That Prove Byblos is the 2016 Arab Tourism Capital

We’re only midway through 2015, but the Arab Tourism Organization has already named Byblos the Arabic Capital of Tourism of 2016. Of course, this doesn’t come as much of a surprise to us.

It’s the best place to spend lazy days lounging on the beach and hosts one of the hottest nightlife scenes in the country. Not bad for a 7,000-year-old city.

Byblos is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. With its souks, ancient archaeological sites, the Phoenician harbor and all the freaking awesome architecture, we can’t get enough of this historical city.

Still not convinced Byblos is one of the best effing places ever? Here are seven pics to prove it.

Let me just begin by asking you this: when have you ever seen a smile this big on Lana Del Ray’s face? If this could happen to LDR, then surely this is a magical place. With the 2015 summer lineup including acts like John Legend, The Script, Alt-J and our beloved Hiba Tawaji, the Byblos International Festival surely won’t disappoint.

Whether you want to take a boat ride out to sea or just stroll along the water’s edge, the Byblos port is one of the most idyllic places to pass the time.

Really, there is no other place quite like it.
