‘Ink, Metal, Charcoal and Coffee’ is a new exhibit by artist Semaan Khawam at the Art Circle Gallery in Hamra.
The self-taught artist, actor, writer, poet and graffiti artist has created a series of painted metal plates of various sizes. Each is engraved with the forms of little boys and girls, some playing, others standing with birds and fish on their heads. A complimentary series of drawings on paper by Khawam show flowers and portraits created from charcoal.
